Spymania was at its peak
when Thunderball was released to the world - there were
over 50 spy-related films made within 1965-66. This
Italian spoof, originally released as 'OK Connery', was
produced in 1967 and featured several Eon-Bond guest
appearances plus Neil Connery (Sean's younger brother) as
himself (well, a plastic surgeon-hypnotist-lip reading
archer). The title of the film was changed on release in
the US to 'Operation Kid Brother'. Adolfo Celi
and Anthony Dawson (playing Thai - Beta and Alpha
respectively) lead evil organisation THANATOS, planning
to take over the world by stopping all machines with a
de-magnetic device. James Bond is not available and
instead his brother Neil Connery (Secret Agent 00),
persuaded by Bernard Lee and Lois Maxwell, is enlisted.
Daniela Bianchi, playing top THANATOS agent Maya, changes
sides to help him.
Lots
of gadgets and pretty girls. Filmed in Morocco, Spain and
Monaco.
